My role is simply to make sure those moments are there for you to return to — not just the big ones, but the quieter, easily missed parts of the day as well.
The glance you share when no one else is looking. A squeeze of the hand. A sudden laugh, or a tear that catches you off guard. The sound of a champagne cork, the reaction of the people around you, the light shifting as you make your promises.
These are the things that shape the day without ever being planned. I film it all as it happens, quietly — so you can stay present in every moment of it.
And for most of it, you’ll hardly know I’m there.

Now just imagine sitting back together with a coffee or a glass of wine a couple of months later, watching it all unfold again in a beautiful film, unique to you two. You'll also see so much you'd missed! After all, you can't be everywhere at once. No one can (although it is one of my special skills!)
From full-day celebrations to smaller gatherings, I focus on the moments that matter without interrupting them. The aim is always to create something that feels personal, thoughtful, and easy to return to over time.

CW Wedding Films absolutely love to film an elopement wedding here in Scotland and we're lucky to have some of the most spectacular and dramatic scenery anywhere.
Not only do you want to be able to relive every moment of your special day but you may also want to share it with family and friends that aren’t with you…. About Chas
A natural way to tell your story
I’m Chas Whatmore, a wedding filmmaker based in Scotland. I’ve been working in film for over a decade, alongside running a commercial production company, but weddings have always been a big part of what I do.
I actually started out in photography, studying at Dundee University, which is where I developed my eye for light, composition, and the smaller moments that often pass unnoticed.
When I’m not filming, I’m usually at home just outside Glasgow with my wife Helen and our three boys, Theo, Miles and Jules. We spend as much time as we can outdoors, often heading off in our camper van to explore somewhere new.
On a wedding day, I work in a relaxed and unobtrusive way. I’m there to notice what’s happening naturally — the moments, the light, the atmosphere — and to capture it without getting in the way.
A lot of the work also happens afterwards. I spend time carefully shaping everything into a film that feels true to the day — something personal, considered, and easy to return to over time.
It’s a real privilege to be trusted with something like this, and I don’t take that lightly.
